Is it going to rain, today?

Is the sky going to fall

to pieces around me

today?

Looking out the window

there’s a chance that it might.

at least,

that’s how it feels

I have not checked

the weather

forecast

for the day.

I have not read the headlines

or checked the news on

my phone.

Yesterday, they said:

Sunny and cool. Chance of wind.

It is neither sunny

nor windy.

Just a little cool

this morning

as I walked down the driveway

to check on the kiln.

Will the world

fall to pieces

around me today?

It’s not likely

But I will

pack an umbrella

just in case.
